New chamber opera by Louise Alenius

The world premiere of a work that invites the audience into a dysfunctional family.

A grippingly hushed affair awaits when Silent Zone – Louise Alenius’s newly composed chamber opera – invites the audience into a dysfunctional family. A taboo-ridden event has robbed the daughter of the house of her language, prompting her brother to investigate the past on their shared behalf. Louise wrote her libretto after gathering statements from people who have had abuse up-close – and know how difficult it is to break a taboo once it’s settled in the walls, in the family, in the body.
